Winter Wildlife Experience
Jackson’s Wildlife Habitats
We’ll first drive to popular wildlife habitats in the Jackson area, concentrating our search of bison, big horn sheep, and trumpeter swans. You be able to see them even closer with binoculars and a spotting scope available on-board. Educational samples, such as horns, antlers, fur, rubber footprints, reference books, will be available for hands-on discussion.
Sleigh Ride on the Elk Refuge
The tour continues to the Jackson Hole Visitors Center for a horse-drawn sleigh ride in the National Elk Refuge, one of 545 National Wildlife Refuges throughout the country. Experienced guides/drivers steer close to the to the majestic animals, which migrate annually to this unique and protected landscape. An average of 5,000 elk --the world’s largest concentration-- well as, coyotes, eagles and other wildlife spend the winter here. You’ll keep warm with blankets, hats gloves and extra coats, available on loan. And upon your return, you’ll enjoy a warm beverage.
Notes: Sleigh rides are conducted if weather and herd conditions permit. Private sleighs are available for an additional fee.

The tour concludes with a guided visit through the National Museum of Wildlife Art, just north of Jackson
